HIGHLIGHTS
Gilles Veissière, was certainly ahead of his time with his (then) unique, lenient, style and performed well in this sonorous game.
A 'true' background style, featuring lots of 'Kulbakou' play ons (running close to ensure that the game didn't 'explode' because of them, but allowing it to flow). Latter two yellow cards were absolutely mandatory, the first one a very borderline SFP, it seems only a caution was supportable, though. I counted two very clear (and the first was tactically valuable too!) yellow cards missed; you may find more. Spotting the offence at 51' and cautioning the offender was very good.
Both ARs weren't really challenged - save for an incorrect offside by Heiner Müller at 53' in a tight situation, an important mistake.
Not my favourite piece of refereeing, not because Veissière was bad - he wasn't! - but because I have seen this performance pretty often in recent times.

Quite sophisticated style with clear whistles and gestures (e.g. in 50'). For my taste, he should have read the game earlier, realize how physical both teams were and acted stronger - warning in 2' was good, reckless sliding tackle in 5' a good point to draw the line - he did not. Missed card for me, same as 53' (very late, even if there was seemingly not too much contact down - still a reckless use of arms). Caution in 73' looked like a SFP stamp to the ankle. I found the offside call in 53' not really conclusive - could be wrong, could be a brilliant if hard to see offside.
